SAFFORD, Ariz. — Wild Horse Haven Rescue and New Leash on Life will host a community fundraiser barbecue and auction on Saturday, May 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. south of Safford.

According to organizers, the event will raise support for the nonprofit organizations and will feature food, family activities and opportunities for visitors to interact with rescued animals.

Menu items will include hamburgers or hotdogs served with ranch beans, chips and water for $10, as well as green chili burros for $12. Organizers also announced games for children, horse and donkey interactions, and shopping opportunities at the on-site store, which will offer books and Wild Mustang hot sauce.

Vendor space is available for businesses and community members interested in participating in the event.

The fundraiser will take place at Wild Horse Haven Rescue, located south of Safford. Attendees are instructed to travel south on Powerline Road from U.S. Highway 191 for approximately two miles, turn left on Drageda Drive, continue to the end of the road and enter through the open gates on the right.

Wild Horse Haven Rescue operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
