Eastern Arizona College Names Abe Tizaf Head Men’s Soccer Coach

THATCHER, Ariz. — Eastern Arizona College has named Abe Tizaf as the new head coach of its men’s soccer program.

Tizaf brings more than a decade of coaching and playing experience to Eastern Arizona College, with a background that includes building competitive programs focused on development, character, and community engagement. He most recently served as head men’s soccer coach at Pellissippi State Community College and has also coached at Young Harris College and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

At Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Tizaf launched the men’s soccer program in 2017 and led the team to a national tournament appearance. His work there earned national recognition, including USCAA National Coach of the Year honors and two Southeast District Coach of the Year awards.

“Abe’s experience and leadership stood out throughout our search,” said Paul Demuth, EA’s athletic director. “He has a proven ability to develop student-athletes both on and off the field, and we’re excited to see where he takes the program.”

Tizaf has also found success at the high school level. In 2015, he led Terre Haute South High School to a sectional championship, setting a new program record for wins.

Before transitioning into coaching, Tizaf played professionally in Morocco, making more than 120 appearances for KACM Marrakech. He holds advanced degrees in leadership development, recreation and sport management, and coaching soccer. In addition, he serves on the Faith-Based Coaches Strategy Team, where he advocates for integrity and holistic athlete development.

“I’m honored to join the Eastern Arizona College family,” Tizaf said. “There’s a strong foundation here, and I look forward to building something special with our players, staff, and community.”

Tizaf will begin his duties immediately as the program prepares for the upcoming season.
