Annual Salary: $66,562- $69,224 **Dependent on experience. **

Location: Graham County Superior Court

Description of responsibilities: 

  • Organizes, schedules, and directs activities with judges, court staff and attorneys to accomplish the effective and efficient disposition of Court business.
  • Directs and supervises the administrative personnel activities of the Superior Court and various limited jurisdiction courts. 
  • Prepares, manages, and presents the annual fiscal budget for the Superior Court.  
  • Evaluates and analyzes department issues and recommends and implements solutions.
  • Identifies funding sources and coordinates grant applications. 
  • Prepares and manages the department budget, vendor contracts and grants.
  • Assures the maintenance of departmental records and reports in compliance with State Statutes and Administrative Codes. 
  • Provides leadership and direction to management staff in the areas of performance management, problem resolution, planning, and work assignments.
  • Conducts performance evaluations.
  • Coordinates activities and planning with state and regional courts, officials, and law enforcement and justice agencies. 
  • Implements operational improvements to workflow and program service levels.
  • Assists and coordinates the budget preparation and oversight efforts of the Justice Court, and the Clerk of the Court.
  • Functions as liaison between the Superior Court, Supreme Court, limited jurisdiction courts, law enforcement agencies, the public and county departments. 
  • Manages Superior Court’s language access programs and court compliance with rules and laws pertaining to interpretation services. 
  • Supervises employee training services provided to Superior Court, Clerk of the Court, Justice Courts, Municipal Courts.
  • Keeps informed of proposed state and federal legislation related to the operation of the Superior Court. 
  • Plans and develops court related Information Technology Systems and coordinates with County IT Department regarding court needs. 
  • Performs purchasing and accounts payable functions.
  • Manages contract issues and payment with vendors.
  • Oversees reporting processes pertaining to the Supreme Court and Administrative Office of the Court.
  • Maintains statistical and financial records.
  • Recommends revisions in court procedures to Presiding Judge(s).
  • Leads in the implementation of legislative, rule, and/or code changes. 
  • Consults with Human Resources staff to assist with personnel issues.
  • Assists in coordinating the Court Appointed Special Advocate Program and supervising Dependency Court Services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required experience:The ideal candidate will have prior experience in laws, rules and regulations relevant to the provision of court services. Preference will also be given to who are bilingual in English and Spanish.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in a closely related field, accompanied by proven and recurring success and responsibility in supervisory and/or management experience.  OR Any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability, knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the position.
