Southwest Gas Service Disruption

Southwest Gas is currently responding to a natural gas supply disruption caused by a line break with an upstream provider. This disruption may affect portions of southeast Arizona, including Central, Eden, Fort Thomas and Bylas, Pima, Peridot, and Globe-Miami. The safety of our customers and the communities we serve remains our top priority. Our crews have turned the gas off to begin repairs and are working diligently to ensure the area is safe and restore service as quickly and safely as possible.

We are asking customers in the Globe-Miami area to conserve natural gas during this time by limiting use of non-essential gas appliances—health permitting. Customers can reduce usage by:

  • Taking shorter showers and washing clothes in cold water
  • Air-drying laundry and hand-washing dishes with cold water
  • Minimizing use of pool/spa heaters, decorative fireplaces, and other non-essential gas appliances

Southwest Gas reminds the public that a natural gas leak can be detected by a distinct sulfur-like odor, similar to rotten eggs, even if it’s faint or momentary; an unusual hissing or roaring sound coming from the ground or appliance; or blowing dirt, bubbling water, or discolored plants or grass surrounding natural gas infrastructure or pipeline markers. If you see, hear, or smell signs of a gas leak, leave the area immediately, then call 911 and Southwest Gas at 1-877-860-6020.
