SAFFORD, Ariz. — Gila Cheer has announced its 2026-27 community performance schedule, featuring appearances at parades, festivals, showcases and seasonal celebrations throughout the Gila Valley.
The newly released schedule includes appearances beginning this July and continuing through May 2027. Events include the Fourth of July Parade, Salsa Fest, Veterans Day Parade, Candy Cane Classic Competition, Winter Championship, Safford Spring Fest and Cinco de Mayo festivities.
“Our athletes love being part of the community and performing at local events throughout the year,” said Taylor Banks, owner and coach of Gila Cheer. “This schedule gives our families and supporters something exciting to look forward to while allowing our athletes to showcase their hard work and dedication.”
Scheduled appearances include:
- July — Fourth of July Parade at 10 a.m.
- Aug. 31 — Community performance
- Sept. 26 — Salsa Fest at 10 a.m.
- Oct. 9 — Fair Parade and performance
- Oct. 17 — Harvest Fest
- Nov. 11 — Veterans Day Parade at 10 a.m.
- Nov. 21 — Gila Cheer Showcase
- Dec. 5 — Candy Cane Classic Competition
- Dec. 12 — Light Parade
- Jan. 30 — Winter Championship
- Feb. 27 — CactusFest
- March — Basketball halftime performance
- April 24 — Safford Spring Fest
- May — Cinco de Mayo Parade and performance
Specific performance times for select events will be announced closer to event dates.
Gila Cheer offers a variety of programs, including performance cheer, all-star competitive cheer, tumbling classes and youth camps. The organization regularly participates in community events across Safford and the surrounding Gila Valley.
