TUCSON, AZ — The Southern Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce Bloomfest, the official kickoff of the Palo Verde Bloom Festival presented by Vantage West Credit Union, taking place on Saturday, March 28 at Kino South Sports Complex.
The event will run from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, welcoming the community to a full day of celebration.
Bloomfest, presented by Pima County Sonoran Desert Conservation Plan, is designed to celebrate the culture, creativity, and natural beauty that make Southern Arizona unique. Organizers expect thousands of attendees for the inaugural year, creating a vibrant gathering that highlights local entrepreneurship, music, art, and family-friendly experiences.
Guests attending Bloomfest can expect a lively festival atmosphere featuring nearly 200 vendors, makers, artists, and local businesses showcasing their products and services. The event will also feature live entertainment throughout the day on The Sol Stage brought to us by Casino Del Sol, where talented local performers will take the spotlight alongside festival entertainment and music from DJ Ern Dollaz.
Families attending the festival will enjoy The Play District presented by Dippin’ Dots, a vibrant area designed specifically for kids and families to explore and enjoy the day together. Inside the district, guests will also find a whimsical carousel powered by Cox Communications, adding a touch of classic festival magic for children and adults alike.
The day will culminate with live performances from two exciting country music artists headlining the festival stage. Tyler Dial and Frank Ray will perform as Bloomfest headliners, made possible through the support of the Lapan Sunshine Foundation.
Bloomfest is a free community event, offering open access for residents and visitors to experience the celebration. Parking at the venue will be available for $10 per vehicle, and organizers are encouraging guests to carpool or utilize ride share services to help ease traffic and parking demand.
Rob Elias, President and CEO of the Southern Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, said the new festival is meant to complement the region’s already vibrant cultural calendar while highlighting one of the most beautiful times of year in the Sonoran Desert.
“Tucson and Southern Arizona are fortunate to have an incredible collection of festivals and community celebrations that showcase the richness of our culture and our people,” said Elias. “The Palo Verde Bloom Festival is meant to add to that tradition by celebrating the natural beauty of our desert and the creativity of the community that calls this place home.”
Elias added that the long-term vision for the festival is to create an event that not only celebrates the environment but also contributes to the region’s economic vitality. “Over time, we believe this celebration has the potential to become something truly special for Tucson,” Elias said. “It can encourage people to explore our local businesses, attract visitors to our region during one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, and ultimately create new economic opportunities for Southern Arizona.”
Bloomfest marks the beginning of what organizers hope will become an annual celebration inspired by the golden blooms of the Palo Verde trees that transform the Sonoran Desert each spring.
