The Graham County Chamber of Commerce and the city of Safford are partnering to provide bottled water to persons in immediate need during the hot summer months.

Mathew Hostel, assistant to the Safford city manager, said city is paying for the water, which will be available at the Graham County Chamber of Commerce, 1051 W. Thatcher Blvd., during normal business hours.

The water will be available to park goers, hikers, bikers, transients and anyone else who may need water on their way.

Hostel said the water purchase was an administrative decision and did not go through the City Council. He said the plan is to provide the water in the hottest summer months, although the actual timeframe hasn’t been specified.
